The soft silicone cap is simply pressed onto the safety valve of the catheter. It does not need to hook into the cap and therefore works even if the wing of the catheter valve has accidentally come loose. The cap is changed after each drainage to ensure hygienic drainage of pleural effusion or ascites.
The cap is compatible with the PleurX™/PeritX™ catheter, the drainova® catheter and the drainova® ArgentiC catheter.
