ewimed service

Our service is designed to give you peace of mind after you have received an indwelling catheter to drain pleural effusion or ascites.

It ensures that after discharge from hospital, you, your relatives or home health care can manage our drainage sets and order supplies. In doing so, we contribute to your aftercare.

Discharge from hospital

The doctor has implanted your catheter. Before you leave the hospital, they will let us know if we need to train your home health care. Or if you want to drain the fluid yourself - then of course we provide training for you and your loved ones.

Making an appointment with one of our staff

The hospital will contact one of our team members to arrange a training session with your home health care provider, or with you and your loved ones. We train how to drain with our drainage sets. At the same time, we make sure you have materials for drainage and secure future ordering routines.

Training

Our staff educates your home health care provider, or you and your loved ones. This training can take place in your home if you wish. Step by step we then carry out your first drainage under the supervision of our staff. Of course, we also show how to change dressings. If you have any questions about our products, our staff will be happy to answer them. You will also receive a booklet with drainage instructions so that you can read up afterwards. In addition, detailed instructions in english are included in all our drainage sets.

Ordering materials

If you or your loved ones want to drain yourself, we will arrange with your healthcare provider to have the material sent to your home. Please check how many drainage sets you have left after a drainage, as delivery can take 3 working days. You can choose whether you want us to send the material to your door. Or, if you prefer, you can pick it up at the nearest postal delivery point. If you have home health care that helps you, they may take the material with them.

Returns

If you no longer need materials that you have at home, we cannot take them back due to hygiene regulations. In this case, you can contact the health service to see if they will accept the products.
