Welcome to ewimed
ewimed is a medical device manufacturer and specialists in products for the drainage of pleural effusion and ascites. The family-owned company, headquartered in Germany, was founded in 1991. ewimed Sweden AB was established in 2006. We are also present in Denmark, Norway, Switzerland, Austria, Benelux, Romania and Hungary.
Our portfolio includes a wide range of products for drainage, puncture, and accessories designed for draining pleural effusions and ascites. We offer indwelling drainage catheters, products for one-time drainage, and accessories designed for simple and safe patient drainage. Our products and services meet the needs of patients as well as those of physicians and hospitals.
Our unique approach includes comprehensive training for healthcare professionals in both hospitals and clinics, support for physicians during implantation, and education for patients and their families in the home environment.

Patient experiences
The biggest benefit is not having to go to the hospital several times a week. It is time-consuming and you sometimes have to stay for an additional day to be driven back and forth between the ward and the X-ray. Also symptom relief: Now I can not only drain on my own, I can even decide freely when I want to drain based on the symptoms I have. This way I avoid the bloated feeling and breathing is easier.
