Function and benefits
Veress™ techinque
- the resilient, blunt obturator extends beyond the sharp, distal tip and protects the patient and user from perforation or injury
- colour indicator changes colour from white to red when the sharp distal tip is released
Self-sealing valve
- maintains a closed system after the puncture needle has been withdrawn
- makes it possible to reinsert the puncture needle if the position needs to be changed
- prevents air from entering or liquid from escaping
- drainage tube with three-way stopcock allows connection to drainage bag or syringe
Pigtail catheter
- shapes itself automatically and reduces the risk of occlusion
- silicone surface treatment ensures easy percutaneous insertion, minimises the "accordion effect" and reduces tissue trauma
- centimeter marking facilitates safe catheter placement (the catheter is 160 mm long)
- Luer-lock connection allows the valve to be removed from the pigtail catheter
