At ewimed, the patient has always been our focus. That’s why patient safety is our highest priority. But what do we actually do to ensure patient safety?

• Unique safety valve
  All our indwelling drainage catheters are equipped with a safety valve that prevents fluid from leaking unintentionally, protecting healthcare staff from contact with body fluids. The safety valve also protects the patient by preventing air from entering the tube.

• Non-lockable safety valve
  Our safety valve is non-lockable, which minimizes the risk of the catheter being unintentionally pulled out.

• Prevents misconnections
  The unique safety valve on our drainage catheter only fits with our products. Thanks to this special connection between catheter and bag, misconnections are avoided.

• Integrated Heimlich valve in ewimed Pneu-Pack
  The Heimlich valve prevents air from flowing back to the patient, providing maximum safety.

• Support for healthcare professionals
  We are always available to support healthcare professionals and patients in using our products safely, both during implantation and afterwards. Our sales team consists of registered nurses with special training in our drainage systems.

• ewimed’s care concept (home training)
  At ewimed, the patient always comes first! With our specially developed care concept, we ensure that patients receive complete, quick, and personal training at home for optimal care after catheter implantation.

• In-house product development
  Our development department enables us to create products closely aligned with the needs of patients and clinics. For example, we developed our own drainage catheter – the drainova® ArgentiC – with integrated microsilver following clinical requests. Silver has antimicrobial properties that help reduce infection risk for patients.

• Instructional videos, EwiApp and more
  In addition to in-person training, we provide instructional videos and brochures on our website to ensure safe and easy use of our products. We also offer the EwiApp, where patients can easily log their drainages, access training videos, order supplies, read news and tips, and much more.
